Microsoft Access 2000
Runtime
If you want to be able to use a database that was
built with Microsoft Access, and you don't have the program installed on
your computer, you can download and install the Microsoft Access 2000
Runtime program, which is a freely distributed version of Access that
will allow you to run a database, but not design databases.
At Amicron, we use Microsoft Access as our database
design tool of choice. However, if you do not have Access on your machine,
you must install this Access 2000 Runtime program first, before you can
use any of our databases.
To download the Access 2000 Runtime program, CLICK
HERE. The Access 2000 Runtime is roughly 32 MB in size.
Once Access2000RunTime.exe file has
downloaded to your system, double-click on it to open it up. It is a
self-extracting ZIP file. You will find the file SETUP.EXE inside.
Run that Setup file, and the Access Runtime will install.
WARNING: Do NOT
install the Access 2000 Runtime if you have a DIFFERENT version of Access
on your computer (Access 95, 97, or XP). This may cause your other version
of Access to stop working.
