This course is designed for the non-computer professional who has a firm working knowledge of computers, is familiar with spreadsheets (specifically Excel), and is proficient with word processing (such as with Microsoft Word). No prior database development experience is necessary.  

What will be covered? In this course we will develop a sample business database which will include customer tracking, order entry, inventory, and basic accounting features. This course is our specialty. Richard  has been building databases with Microsoft Access for nearly 10 years. When he is not teaching, he is building databases. If you're looking to really learn Access, this is the course for you. We skip a lot of the theoretical nonsense and get right into building real-life databases.

What about followup training? Students are welcome to "sit in" on the course second time. This means that if we have a PC free for you, you're welcome to it - otherwise, your welcome to come and just sit off to the side to just watch and ask questions. We find that students generally grasp the material better the second time through. We'll run this seminar once a quarter or so. In addition, we are currently building an online Microsoft Access course for MyOnlineLearningPartner.com.  As soon as that is completed, all students who have signed up for this course will get a free two-month trial membership to view that Access course as well! Additionally, questions are always welcome via email.

Can I take just part of the course? Yes, if you wish to sign up for just one or a few of the six sessions, you can. This course, however, is designed so that you take the classes in order. Class 3 builds on class 2, which builds on class 1, and so on. Even if you've been using Access for a while and don't think you need Class 1, we strongly recommend you take it, if for nothing else than just a review of your skills. This course is designed to be taken in its entirety. Yes, you can take just class 1, or classes 1 and 2, but it is not recommended to skip any of the classes. Even if you already know Access well, you should still enroll in our level 1 and 2 classes, if for nothing else than to review and to make sure that you have the proper foundation knowledge to proceed with our advanced classes. If you're looking to learn just the basics, class 1 can be taken by itself and is designed to be given as a standalone course.
