If you want to maximize your online experience, or learn how to be productive online, this class is for you. We will start out with the Web - what it is, how to use it, and where to find useful information with search engines. We'll show you how to send and receive Email (and how to handle junk mail and file attachments). You'll learn what helpful utilities to get, and how to get them for free or very low cost. We'll pay special attention to virus detection and prevention. We'll show you how to access UseNET newsgroups, Internet Relay Chat, instant messaging, and much more.
PreRequisite: Windows Basics. Students should have a good understanding of how to use Windows, and a computer in general. No prior word processing experience is required. |
