Why Amicron?

100% Hands On All of our 6-week, 3-week, and 1-day courses are completely hands on. Each student sits at his or her own computer. Each student has the opportunity to follow along as the instructor covers each example on the main screen.

Small Groups Amicron specializes in small group, instructor lead classes. Unlike some of our competitors, we don't fill our hands-on courses with 20 to 30 people. Fewer students equals more quality time with the instructor. We want to make sure we have enough time to address each student's questions in turn. We normally seat four to six students per class. We can seat a maximum of eight. While our Boot Camps and Seminars may seat lots more people, our small-group sessions are guaranteed to be small groups.

Three Hour Classes We keep our classes to three hours long on purpose. We know it's hard to stay focused in a five or six hour class. Students generally remember the first hour and the last hour and everything in the middle is forgotten. With three hours, each class is long enough to cover a good amount of material, yet short enough not to burn any of the students (or the instructor) out.

Custom Courseware We don't just cover the material in some off-the-shelf textbook. We have written all of our own course materials and we know what you need to learn from practical experience.

Expert Instructors Every computer training company will say this, but we really mean it: our instructors are true experts. We're not just teachers who know computers. We're computer programmers, database developers, and technicians who teach.

Richard Rost is the instructor for most of our courses. He is a self-taught computer programmer, database developer, and web designer by trade. Richard started his career in computer training working in the technical support industry. He was in charge of training computer technicians to help customers solve their problems over the phone. From there, Richard founded Amicron Technology Services in 1994.
