What is Connectivity?
In order to get on the Web, you have to connect your computer to
the Internet. There are many ways to do this. You can use a modem
which connects your PC to the Internet via a dialup connection -
using your existing phone lines. There are also high-speed
connections available such as DSL, cable, and T1.
Why Not Use America Online?
America Online is just one of the many ISPs (Internet Service
Providers) available. AOL, however, uses proprietary software that
some people find limiting. Plus, AOL is rather pricey. There are a
wide variety of local ISPs, like Amicron, that can offer the same
quality of service as AOL, but at a much lower cost - and without
loading proprietary software on your computer.
