Account Setup Information

Unlike other internet providers, we don't load your computer with junk software to connect to the Internet. If you have Windows 98, Me, 2000, or XP the following step-by-step walkthrough will get you connected. If you have Windows 95 or NT, contact us for additional information.


Step 1. From Windows, click on Start > Run.

 

Step 2. In the Run dialog box, type in  inetwiz  and click OK.

 

Step 3. Select "Connect using my phone line" and click Next.

 

Step 4. Select your modem from the list of modems on the next screen. Most computers have only one modem to choose from. Click Next.

 

Step 5. Type in the area code and phone number for your dialup access that was provided by Amicron. You may optionally select a different dialup number from the list below, if you are closer to these locations. Click Next.

Step 6. Enter in the dialup username and password provided to you by Amicron. Do not confuse this with your email username and password, which may be different. You will see asterisks (*) when entering your password. Click Next.

 

Step 7. Enter in a name for this connection. Type in "Amicron Internet". Click Next.

 

Step 8. Amicron Internet uses a Web-based mail reader, so you do not have anything to configure here. Select No and click Next. Yes, you can use Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express with Amicron Internet service, however we do not officially support any email programs. Step 9. Click Finish.

 

Step 10. From your Windows Desktop, double-click on My Computer

Step 11. Double-click on Dial-Up Networking

Step 12. Double-click on Amicron Internet to connect to the Internet.
