Database-Driven Web Site Example

This is an example of our online database. Our employees use it to look up and edit customer information, contact history, orders, quotes, and so on. We can develop a similar interface for your company, either with a newly designed database, or from your existing customer database you may be using. Click on any image for a larger view

example1.jpg (26453 bytes) This is the main logon screen. There is complete user security, so we can control exactly who gets in to the database, and how much information they can access.

example2.jpg (62907 bytes) Next is our Main Menu. We have a variety of different options available for our users. They can search for customers, generate a list of prospects, check their Tasks (to-do list), send Email, and more.

example3.jpg (46430 bytes) On our Customer Search screen, we offer our users the capability to search for customers based on many criteria: name, company name, phone number, fax number, or Customer ID.

example4.jpg (114367 bytes) Performing a search by partial company name (in this case “ami” was used) will provide you with a listing of all customers that meet that criteria. You can then simply click on any one of their Customer ID’s (highlighted) to open up that customer’s specific record.

example5.jpg (97195 bytes) This is the company detail screen. Here you can see the company name, names of the people at this company, phone numbers, address, email, web site, and so on. You can also store notes for this customer. At the bottom of the screen, you can see whether or not there is any information in this customer’s contact history (4 contacts in this example), and whether or not they have any orders or quotations in the system.

example6.jpg (82607 bytes) Examining the contacts for this company will show the previous four times we spoke with this customer on the phone. Again, you can click on any of the Contact IDs to bring up the details for each contact, or click on the ADD button at the bottom to add a contact in. This is great for traveling sales people to keep your customer records up to date. They don’t have to wait until they’re back in the office to update your client files!

example7.jpg (92992 bytes) Likewise, you can view all of the customer’s order history or any quotations they may have in the system. Your office in Nebraska can instantly see orders entered in Buffalo. No longer do you have to fax paperwork back and forth. Customers can also – if you wish – view their order history online! They can check the status of their order, and even pay their bill right on your web site using their credit card.

What we’ve shown you here merely scratches the surface of what a Web-based database can do. We can develop an online database for you to

  • Track customers and contacts with those customers
  • Manage order entry or inventory
  • Share information between offices
  • Provide traveling executives with data on the road
  • And much, much more...

We hope this document has answered any questions you have about Web-based databases. If you have any additional questions, please call.
