Do you have a need to share data between multiple locations? Do you want to be able to put your company’s data on the Web in real-time, so your employees, vendors, or customers can access it? Do you belong to an organization that wants to be able to share data between members in real-time? Amicron can put your data on the web.
In the past, online databases were only viable for very large corporations and computer companies that had the technical expertise to build them. Now, an online database is a possibility for any business, of any size. We can take your company data (products, customer info, contact history, employee data, the list goes on) and build a web site for you that offers your users a way to view, edit, and add data right on the web.
What Is An Online Database?
You’re probably familiar with a traditional database. Perhaps you store your customer information, orders, product lists, and contact history in a database on your computer, or on your network in the office. An online database is simply an extension of a traditional database, however instead of running on a few computers in your office, it runs on a Web Server connected directly to the Internet.
Why Should I Use An Online
Database?
If you have a need for people to access your data who aren’t regularly in your office – employees, customers, vendors, and so on – they can quickly and easily access your data simply by visiting your web site. If they have an Internet connection and a web browser, they can hit your database from anywhere in the world.
What Can Be Done With An Online
Database?
You name it. We can create for you an online product catalog, an employee database, a complete order-entry system with a shopping cart, a membership roster… the list goes on and on. Whatever your concept, we can make it a reality.
Who Can Access My Information?
Anyone you want to. You control the access. You set up various user accounts and passwords, and you can give access to whomever you wish.
Where Is My Data Stored?
Your data is stored on one of our Web Servers which are connected directly to the Internet. You can access your data from any Internet-connected PC. All of our Web Servers are backed up nightly. You can also back up your data by downloading it over the Web.
Optionally, we can also set up a Web Server at your facility
to store your data in-house.
When Is My Data Accessible?
Any time you want – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How Much Does An Online Database
Cost?
That’s kind of like asking, “how much does a car cost?” The range is pretty wide. A basic online customer/contact management database can cost as little as a few hundred dollars. A full-fledged shopping center with online order processing and credit card verification can cost several thousand dollars. Plus, there is a small monthly fee for having your database on our Web Server. We would ask that you call and schedule a consultation to speak with one of our software development consultants to put together a custom quote for your specific business needs.
How Long Does It Take To Get
Started?
Generally, we can meet with you right away. We normally have a wait of a week or two to begin a new project. After that, completion time depends on the complexity of your project.
